Description
The MK 8G22NF, also marked M22NF SLD G, is one 12 V sealed gel battery in Group 22NF. It weighs 37.5 lbs (17 kg).
Which power chairs and scooters does this battery fit?
Order it when the label you remove says gel, 12 V, Group 22NF, and the terminal is a G post. That table is not a list of chair models. The sheet does not call the battery deep cycle, even though older shop titles do.
- Pride Jazzy EVO 614: Two 12 V NF-22 batteries, AGM or gel. This part is the gel, with a G terminal.
- Quantum Q6 Edge 2.0 and Q6 Edge 3: Two 12 V NF-22 batteries, AGM or gel. The terminal still has to match.
- Quantum Q6 Edge 3 Stretto: 40 Ah or 55 Ah NF-22. This gel is 51 Ah at the 20-hour rate, not 55 Ah.
- Fortress 1700, 3-wheel and 4-wheel: Sunrise requires gel, and the battery box maximum is 9.4 x 6.63 x 9.25 in. Measure before you call it a fit.
The MK 8A22NF is the AGM Group 22NF, 55 Ah at 20 h, and it does not replace this gel. Do not put an AGM in a chair that requires gel.
What must match the old battery?
- Read maker, part number, 12 V, amp-hours, and the word gel. AGM is the wrong chemistry.
- Look at the terminals. This part is a G (T881). An M6 insert or a flag is a different battery.
- Measure the case, terminals included. MK's sheet says 8.99 in long, 5.47 in wide, and 9.26 in high including the terminal.
How many and how should they be charged?
Buy two 8G22NF batteries when both boxes are this gel part. Do not mix gel with AGM, and do not leave an old battery beside a new one.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the AGM 8A22NF instead?
Only if the chair maker allows AGM and the battery you remove is AGM. Do not mix one gel and one AGM.
Will it fit a Fortress 1700?
Sunrise requires gel, which this is. The published box maximum is 9.25 in high, and this battery is 9.26 in including the terminal. Measure the old battery, terminal included, before you order.
How is this different from the Interstate GEL0055?
Both are gel Group 22NF batteries. MK rates the 8G22NF at 51 Ah at 20 h with a G terminal.
