Description
This Platform walker supports the person's forearms during indoor gait practice, on flat floors only.
Who it suits, and who should choose something else
- Someone who can stand and step with both forearms supported.
- Not if they cannot stand, even with a walker.
- Not a seated rollator. If a rest seat matters, start with rollators.
Will the supports and the doorway fit?
- Set the forearm supports to elbow height, arms hanging. The range is 35.4 to 51.2 in (90 to 130 cm).
- Supports slide from 12.4 to 18.9 in apart (31.5 to 48 cm). Tighten both column knobs before a walk.
- Length is 31.5 in (80 cm). Width is 27.2 in (69 cm) with the supports in, up to 31.5 in (80 cm) spread.
- A 70 cm (27.6 in) door fits only with the supports not pushed apart. Measure, or book a free home assessment.
Brakes, the gas spring, and hard limits
- Hand levers slow and park the rear wheels. Foot brakes park the front casters, and all four can lock against swivel.
- The 150 N gas spring only moves the supports. It will not help someone stand, and this is not a sit-to-stand aid.
- Flat indoor floors only. It does not fold. The frame splits in two to move. Folding choices are under walkers.
- Stop at 331 lb (150 kg). Keep fingers clear of the columns while the height moves.
How it compares
- Drive Elevate upright walker: a forearm rollator with a seat, for someone who must sit and rest.
- Platform walker attachment: a forearm cradle for a standard walker, not this gait walker.
Funding and warranty
Funding may help: see who may help pay.
Rehasense covers production faults for 2 years. Misuse is excluded. See warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Can the gas spring lift someone out of a chair?
No. It only moves the forearm supports. Do not use this walker as a stand-up aid.
Will the supports stay at the height I set?
Only after both column locking knobs are tight. Do not walk with those knobs loose.
Can it cross a threshold or go outside?
No. It is for flat indoor floors only, and it should not be rolled over a threshold.
Is PLAT1000GB the version without hand brakes?
No. This item has two hand brake levers and a gas spring. The no-brake codes are different items.
