Description

RGK designs the GrandSlam Series for tennis. It is not a multi-sport school chair, and it is not a daily rigid wheelchair.

Who it suits

  • Quad and open tennis players, from intermediate to professional, as RGK's UK page states.
  • A player who wants the frame made to their measurements and their style of play.
  • Someone who also wants basketball or rugby in one chair should look at the Club Sport instead.

GrandSlam or GrandSlam X

  • GrandSlam: 7020 aluminium, a carbon fibre knee support with a ratchet, and a 45 mm camber bar. Listed weight from 8.5 kg (18.7 lb).
  • GrandSlam X: the same user limit, with a carbon fibre axle. Listed weight from 7.9 kg (17.4 lb).
  • Both versions list a maximum user weight of 125 kg (275 lb).
  • Anti-tips are a choice: single or double, and fixed or removable. They are not one standard part.

Check the fit

  • There is no catalogue size. Seat, back and footrest are set when the player is measured.
  • A calf strap and a toe strap come as standard. A waist strap is extra support.
  • The manual limits the chair to level sporting surfaces. It is not for curbs or bumpy ground.
  • Book a free home assessment before the quote, so the measurements match the player.

How it compares

The RGK Match Point is the other tennis chair here, with 16 or 20 degree camber and a seat position you can change.

The RGK Club Sport is the beginner chair for basketball, tennis and rugby. For daily pushing, see rigid wheelchairs and the wheelchair range.

Frequently asked questions

Is the GrandSlam X a separate model?

Yes. It stays in this series and adds a carbon fibre axle. The listed chair weight starts at 7.9 kg, not 8.5 kg.

Can I take this chair over a curb?

No. The manual says these sports chairs are for level sporting surfaces, not curbs or uneven, bumpy ground.

Does one anti-tip come already chosen?

No. RGK offers a single or double anti-tip, fixed or removable. That choice is made when the chair is ordered.

Can one GrandSlam also cover basketball?

RGK designs this series for tennis. For basketball, tennis and rugby in one chair, look at the Club Sport.
