Description
MC7WM is the ReadyWide that staff can roll with the deck at any height. The floor lock is a different item number.
Who is the mobility code for?
- A long-term care unit that moves the empty bed between rooms, even when the deck is not fully down.
- Not a private home, and not MC7WL. This code does not add a floor-lock pedal, and the 650 lb Plus bed is MC7WPML.
What has to be clear before a move?
- Narrow the sleep surface to 35 in for a tight doorway. The same frame also stops at 39 in and at 42 in, and length runs 76, 80 or 84 in.
- The deck travels from 7-7/8 in to 31 in and is meant to roll at every point in that range. Past 12.5 in, only the foot-end control continues down.
- Keep the loaded bed at or under 500 lb (227 kg), with the patient at or under 350 lb (159 kg). A deck this low shortens the distance to the floor.
What should staff not do while moving it?
- Do not leave the resident on the bed, and do not push on the rails. Two people move it with the cord unplugged and off the floor.
- Lock the 3 in casters once it is placed. Battery backup is extra. Rails are separate: see bed rails.
Which other bed should you compare?
The Advantage grid deck does not roll at any height, and it does not have these built-in width stops.
A private home should start with full electric homecare beds. This frame belongs on the long-term care beds list.
Frequently asked questions
Can one person roll MC7WM down the hall?
Span asks for two people, and they should check the path first. Do not use the rails as handles.
Can the deck stay up while the bed rolls?
Yes. This code is built to move with the deck raised or low, then the casters lock once it is in place.
May a resident stay in the bed for a room change?
No. The manual says this bed is not for transporting patients, including a move across a threshold.

Funding may help: see who may help pay. Catalogue terms dated July 2026 are 5 years on mechanical parts, 15 on the frame and 15 on welds.
Pendants, foot-end controls, cables and batteries are 1 year.
