This mattress is useful the day it arrives, with no pump, and can be powered later.
Who is it for?
- A bed that needs a hybrid surface now, and might need alternating pressure or rotation later.
- Unpowered: up to 500 lbs (227 kg). Once the add-on control unit is fitted, Savaria's limit is 350 lbs (159 kg). The lower figure is the one that counts in powered mode. The bed's limit also applies.
- The low-air-loss version, Custom Care Convertible LAL, is a different mattress: ask us about it.
- If you already know you need a pump every day, a powered system may be the simpler order.
Sizes
- 26130 is 80 x 42 x 7 in. 95724 is 84 x 42 x 7 in.
- CJ753629 is 75 x 36. CJ803629 is 80 x 36. CJ843629 is 84 x 36. All are 7 in high.
- Measure the deck. Check the gap at the rails.
- Span says Safety Edge helps minimize the risk of falls and patient entrapment on this convertible. It does not replace rails.
Pump, cover and weight
- Control unit 6500 is optional. Savaria lists it at 8.8 lbs, 120 V AC, 60 Hz, 0.4 A, about 14 x 10 x 5 in.
- The cover is Premium LifeSpan stretch fabric. Savaria says it resists diluted bleach and other strong cleaners; follow the owner's manual for cleaning.
- The mattress weighs about 24 lbs.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work if I never buy the pump?
Yes. It is a support surface with no power. The pump adds alternating pressure or rotation later.
Why does the weight limit drop when powered?
Savaria rates it 500 lbs unpowered and 350 lbs once the control unit is in use. Use the lower number in powered mode.
Is the control unit in the box?
No. Part 6500 is sold separately.
