Description

The Airgo Walker Glides (model 780-010) are a gray pair of ski-shaped rear tips for a walker with 1 in (2.5 cm) tubing. They push onto the legs without tools.

What does it do and how does it work?

  • Each glide is a curved ski that fits over the bottom of a walker leg.
  • The parabolic curve slides over carpet and uneven floors instead of digging in.
  • The Sur-Lock fitting pushes on by hand.

Who is it for, and who should choose something else?

  • For a walker whose rear tips are worn, split or missing.
  • For carpet, thresholds and uneven floors where rubber tips catch.
  • Choose walker wheels if you need the rear of the walker to roll.
  • Choose another tip if the legs are not 1 in (2.5 cm) across.

Will it fit?

  • Fits walker legs with 1 in (2.5 cm) outside-diameter tubing.
  • Measure across the bottom of one leg with a ruler before ordering.
  • Most walkers with that tube size take them.
  • Walkers with 1-1/8 in (29 mm) legs need a different glide.

Using it day to day

  • Pull the old tip off, wipe the tube end, and push the glide on until it seats.
  • Fit both the same way so the walker stands level.
  • Replace a glide when the ski edge wears through.

What does it work with, and what are its limits?

  • For walker rear legs, not canes or crutches, which take smaller tips.
  • They glide; they do not brake, lock or turn the walker.

How does it compare?

Frequently asked questions

Will they fit my Drive walker?

Only if the legs measure 1 in (2.5 cm); some Drive walkers use 1-1/8 in (29 mm) legs.

Do they replace the front wheels?

No; the front wheels or tips stay as they are.

Can I use them on a cane?

No; cane tips fit smaller tubes, usually 3/4 in (19 mm).
