Description
Whitmyer Plush is one curved pad behind the head.
Who should choose it?
It suits someone who needs the back of the head supported and does not need a pad under the neck or in front.
- Use it on tilt or recline when a single posterior pad is enough.
- Choose a lateral or three-pad system when the neck or one side has to be held.
What is chosen on the order?
Pad width is chosen by name on the form. Two of the smaller pads use neoprene so the pad is thinner. The cover code is Lycra or Dartex Reversed.
Hardware is AXYS, ONYX, LINX, LINX2, PRO, Cobra Xtra or Cobra Xtra flip-back. Brackets are separate except on Cobra.
How does it compare?
See positioning supports for other pads. The PowerPlus Relax multi-axis headrest is a different headrest, not a Plush pad on another mount.
For a child, start with pediatric wheelchairs and match the pad to the head, not to the chair brand.
Funding may help: see who may help pay.
The owner's manual says Whitmyer head supports are not transit tested. Do not push the chair by the pad, and keep it off the ear, eye, throat and jaw.
Check the cup against the head at a free home assessment, or look through wheelchairs if the chair is not chosen.
Frequently asked questions
Can I order the fleece cover from the form?
The April 2025 form only codes Lycra and Dartex Reversed. Fleece is named on the product page, so we confirm that part before ordering it.
Which pads use the thinner foam?
The form marks the 5 in pad and one 6 in pad as neoprene, for a thinner pad. The 19 in pad is not that note.
How is the cover washed?
The manual says the cover zips off. Hand wash it in mild detergent, rinse it, and let it air dry.
