Description
Model EIZ1A is Zippie's original pediatric tilt chair. A caregiver tilts it. Sunrise does not say the child pushes it.
Who it suits
- A child who needs a caregiver to change a 45 degree tilt through the day.
- Not the rotation chair. That is the Zippie IRIS. The adult chair is the Quickie IRIS.
How the tilt works
The TS uses traditional tilt. The seat moves on a fixed pivot, through 45 degrees. It does not rotate around the child's centre of gravity.
A foot-release actuator works the tilt and keeps the cables covered. On the chair, press the lock lever, set the angle, and let go. The manual says a dealer should adjust the tilt mechanism itself.
Check the fit
- Seat width is 10 to 18 in. Seat depth is 13 to 20 in.
- Front seat height is 15.5 to 20 in. Rear seat height is 14 to 19 in.
- Growth on one chair is up to 2 in of width and up to 5 in of depth.
- Overall width is 18.25 to 24.25 in. A home assessment checks that against the doorway.
Limits
- Capacity is 165 lb (75 kg), rider plus items carried. Product weight is 29 lb (13.2 kg), and Sunrise does not name the parts in that figure.
- Transit can be included, optional, or omitted. The manual names WC-19. Without that option, do not ride in a moving vehicle.
Compare the other tilt chairs
The Zippie IRIS rotates 40 or 55 degrees and carries 225 lb, or 165 lb with a Z-Finity footrest. The Zippie Sphynx is a folding static tilt. See pediatric wheelchairs and tilt wheelchairs.

Frequently asked questions
Is the TS the same tilt as the Zippie IRIS?
No. The TS tilts 45 degrees on a fixed pivot. The IRIS rotates around the child's centre of gravity.
Can the child ride in a vehicle?
Only when the transit option is on that chair. The manual names WC-19. The order form can also omit transit.
Who works the tilt?
A caregiver. Press the lock lever, set the angle, and release it. This is not described as a chair the child pushes.
What does the 29 lb weight include?
The Canadian page lists 29 lb and does not say whether the wheels or the footrests are in that number.
