Description

The Zippie Xpress is Sunrise Medical's early intervention stroller for a toddler up to 55 lbs. A caregiver pushes it. The child does not self-propel.

Who is the Zippie Xpress for?

Sunrise's Canadian page sets it for children from birth to 3 years, up to 55 lbs, who sit while someone else pushes.

Sunrise also lists it as the Kid Kart Xpress, model EIXP. It is not an everyday self-propel chair. Those are in the wheelchair range.

Will this seat fit?

  • Occupant limit: 55 lbs (25 kg), on the product page and in the weight warning. The intended-use line matches that limit.
  • Seat width on the Canadian page: 6 to 12.5 in. Seat depth: 5.5 to 11 in. Floor to seat in the manual: 21 in.
  • Push handle: 36.5 to 41 in. Overall width: 24 in. Total weight 34 lbs, split as an 18 lb base and a 16 lb shell.

Bring hip and thigh measures to a free home assessment before the cushion depth is set.

How does it fold?

The seat can come off the base, and the base then folds flat. Take the child out before you fold.

The manual also describes a compact fold with the shell still on, facing forward, after the lockout pin is removed.

How does it compare with the Zippie Voyage?

The Zippie Voyage is the larger early intervention stroller, with a 75 lb user limit and a seat that grows wider.

Stay with the Xpress for a child up to 55 lbs and a 21 in seat height. For a self-propel chair, see pediatric wheelchairs.

Frequently asked questions

Can it fold with the seat still on?

A compact fold is described with the shell facing forward, after the lockout pin comes out. The usual fold takes the shell off.

What do the 34 lbs include?

The manual splits the 34 lb total into an 18 lb base and a 16 lb seating shell. It is not the base alone.

Can the child ride in a vehicle in it?

The manual says not to use it for occupied transport at 25 lbs or less. The transit note it prints runs from 26 lbs to 55 lbs.

Is a canopy included?

The Canadian page says every Xpress includes a canopy with a mesh window. Colour packages are chosen on the order.
