Description

Ki Mobility's Axiom One is the value cushion in the Axiom line: a molded foam seat on the same high-IFD polyurethane base as the Axiom G, in a lower 2.4 in profile.

Who it suits

  • Ki Mobility calls it "a value-driven General Use cushion", built for everyday seating rather than pressure care.
  • Its molded shape "promotes envelopment with limited immersion", in the maker's words, on a mild pre-contoured top.
  • A seating assessment by an occupational therapist or physiotherapist decides which cushion suits.

Which size fits your wheelchair?

  • The maker's order form lists 14 pairs: 14 x 14, 14 x 16, 16 x 16, 16 x 18, 17 x 16, 17 x 17, 17 x 18, 18 x 16, 18 x 18, 18 x 20, 20 x 18, 20 x 20, 22 x 18 and 22 x 20 in.
  • Pick yours in the size selector; each pair carries its own XO item number.
  • Measure the seat pan between the armrests for the width, and from the backrest to the front edge for the depth.

How is it built?

  • The base is molded high-IFD polyurethane foam with a mild pre-contoured top and a beveled bottom edge.
  • The skid-resistant bottom panel holds the cushion in place without hook-and-loop fasteners.
  • It sits 2.4 in (6.1 cm) high, weighs 1.9 lb (0.9 kg) at 18 x 18 in, and holds up to 350 lb (158.8 kg). Spare foam seats sit in our foam cushion range.

Covers and care

  • The wipeable incontinence resistant cover is standard, with a water resistant zipper and a 4-way stretch surface.
  • Machine wash the cover in warm water and tumble dry with no heat; sanitize the base with a 70% alcohol spray and never immerse the foam.

How it compares

Foam, gel and air seats we sell sit in the wheelchair cushion range.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Axiom One a pressure relief cushion?

No. Ki Mobility classes it as a general use cushion, and the skin protection and positioning models in the same line are built for that need.

Which item number do I order?

XO plus the width and depth, so XO1818 is 18 x 18 in. Every pair the order form lists is in the size selector.

What care does the cover need?

Wash it in warm water and tumble dry with no heat, and never immerse the foam base.
