The NXT BioFit is a contoured foam wheelchair cushion that holds the pelvis and thighs in position through a long sitting day.
Who is the BioFit for?
- Dynamic Health Care Solutions builds it for users at medium to high risk of skin break down, spreading load over the full sitting surface.
- The moulded base adds a pre-ischial bar, a radius cut rear, trochanteric contours and a 20 degree beveled front.
- Loop Velcro and a non-skid bottom hold it on a sling seat, a solid seat pan or a tilt chair, so it stays put during the day.
Will it fit your wheelchair?
- We stock seat widths from 16" to 24" and seat depths from 16" to 22". Measure the seat pan, not the old cushion.
- It is 2.75", 4" or 4.5" (70, 102 or 114 mm) high, so check your seat to floor height first.
- Capacity is 300 lbs (136 kg), or 400 lbs (181 kg) from 22" to 24" wide. Between two widths, take the wider one at the armrest or side guard.
What are the care and use limits?
- Both covers machine wash on delicate, no bleach, then hang dry or tumble dry low; the inner cover wipes clean and stays on the foam.
- The manual says to check the skin often after fitting new seating, to use it at room temperature, and to keep sharp objects, heat and flame away.
Which version should you choose?
- Height: 2.75" keeps the seat low for foot propulsion; 4" and 4.5" put more material under the sitting bones. Spare covers, obliquity pads and a solid seat insert for a sling seat are ordered separately.

Frequently asked questions
Can I wash the whole cushion?
No, the covers only. Leave the inner cover on the foam and wipe the core with a damp cloth.
How do I stop the cushion sliding forward?
Fit it as far back as possible, rear flush with the seat back, then press the underside Velcro onto the seat tape.
What if it has been stored somewhere cold?
The foam and gel work at room temperature, so let the cushion warm before anyone sits on it.
