Items 507810, 507811 and 507814 are the mesh positioning sling. Use it for a supine move, a turn in bed, or a lift from the floor in side lying.
Which lift does it fit?
- The product page names a mobile or overhead lift with a two-point bar. The bar can run lengthwise or across.
- Straps from the head to the knees must be on. Straps below the knee can stay off if a caregiver holds the legs.
- Use the same colour loop on the left and the right. Handicare loop slings fit Handicare carry bars.
- Health Canada says the sling and the lift must both be rated for the person, and the maker must approve the pairing. Inspect for fraying (patient lifts and risk of fall).
- Ask us before pairing this sling with another brand's bar.
Who is it for?
- Someone who needs to move while lying flat. It is not a seated hammock, and it has no head panel.
- Keep the mesh in the bed, with an ordinary sheet against the skin. Check the skin often.
Which size?
- Mesh 36 x 70 in is 507810, 800 lbs. Mesh 42 x 78 in is 507811, 800 lbs. Mesh 56 x 78 in is 507814, 1000 lbs.
- Blue knit is 507802, 507807, 507816 and 507818. Spacer with elastic is 9Y4901. Disposable packs are 5478105-10, 547810-10 and 547810XXL-10. Those are not this page.
Which fabric is this?
- Blue polyester mesh, with no padding. Knit sizes are a different fabric and a different item number.
Care
- Laundry bag, up to 176 F (80 C). The sheet names polyester.
- The 4-year line is a service life, not a warranty.

Which mesh size is rated 1000 lbs?
Only 507814, the 56 x 78 in mesh. The 36 x 70 in and 42 x 78 in mesh sizes are 800 lbs.
Should this sling stay under the person in bed?
The instructions say yes, with a flat sheet between the person and the mesh, and with regular skin checks.
Are the knit and disposable codes on this page?
No. This page is mesh 507810, 507811 and 507814 only.
