Description
The Interstate FAS1075 is a 12 V 7 Ah sealed AGM battery from the Power Patrol fire and security line, with F1 tabs.
Which stairlift does this battery fit?
It matches a lift whose maker specifies two 12 V 7 Ah maintenance-free batteries, and only when the tabs on the old batteries are F1, 0.187 in (4.75 mm). Interstate does not list a stairlift on the FAS1075 Also Fits list.
- Handicare 1000: A Handicare 1000 technical manual says two 12 V 7 Ah batteries.
If it says 9 Ah, this is the wrong battery.
Do not fit this battery to a Handicare 1100 (2.6 Ah), a Freecurve that specifies 8 Ah or 12 Ah, or any lift whose label is not 7 Ah. A higher amp-hour battery is not an upgrade when the maker specifies 7 Ah.
What must match the old battery?
- Read the label: maker, part number, 12 V, amp-hours, and AGM or gel.
- Look at the tabs. F1 is 0.187 in (4.75 mm).
- Measure the case. A FAS1075 is 5.94 in long, 2.56 in wide and 3.70 in high. Height over the tabs is not on Interstate's current record, so measure the battery you remove.
How many and how should they be charged?
Order two FAS1075 batteries and replace both at the same time. Do not mix an old battery with a new one, or AGM with gel.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a Handicare battery?
No. Interstate makes the FAS1075 for fire and security float service. A Handicare 1000 manual specifies two 12 V 7 Ah batteries and does not print this part number.
The quick reference says 7.2 Ah. Is 7 Ah close enough?
One Handicare technical manual says 7 Ah. The quick reference says 7.2 Ah. Interstate's record is 7 Ah, with no hour rate printed.
Will an 8 Ah battery fit the same box?
The SLA1075 is 8 Ah in the same 5.94 x 2.56 x 3.70 in case, also with F1 tabs, and it weighs 4.96 lbs.
