Sunrise describes a high-resiliency foam base with built-in lateral and medial thigh supports that suits a curved or flat seating surface, plus a JAY Flow fluid tripad under the seat bones. It is the value model in the maker's wheelchair cushion line.

Sunrise lists it for people who may be at moderate to high risk of skin breakdown, with moderate positioning needs, who may spend extended periods in a wheelchair. Sunrise asks that a clinician experienced in seating and positioning decide whether a JAY Easy is appropriate.
How the base and the fluid pad work
Sunrise says the base is moderately contoured to encourage positioning of the pelvis and thighs. The curved bottom reduces the hammocking effect of sling upholstery, and a flat bottom suits a solid seat pan.
The JAY Flow fluid tripad conforms to each person's shape and keeps fluid under the bony prominences. Because the fluid can lose volume, Sunrise asks for a monthly check for bottoming out.
Choosing the size
Sunrise fits the cushion to hip width when seated, with the front edge 1 to 2 in short of the back of the knees. The order form lists 64 item numbers from 14 x 14 in to 24 x 24 in, flat or curved bottom. Send the seat width and depth on the seating quote form.
Covers, care and warranty
The moisture-resistant cover has a no-slip bottom. Sunrise asks for it to be washed warm and dried on low heat, with no bleach, ironing or dry cleaning, while the foam base is wiped, never soaked. Sunrise warrants the cushion for 24 months, excluding punctures, tears, burns and the removable cover. Spare covers come through our service department.
