JAY Solid Seating gives a wheelchair cushion a solid base instead of the dip of sling upholstery. It comes as two parts, and either can be fitted on its own.
The solid seat insert
The Solid Seat Insert is a solid wood board that fits inside the cover of a JAY cushion. Sunrise makes it in every standard JAY cushion size, and other sizes are made through JAY Your Way.
The adjustable solid seat
The Adjustable Solid Seat is an ABS plastic base that replaces the wheelchair's sling upholstery. It comes in widths of 10 to 22 in and depths of 10 to 20 in, and each size adjusts across a range of wheelchair widths and depths. Its non-skid surface holds the cushion in place during transfers and daily use.
Height and the drop seat option
The hardware raises, lowers or angles the seat by up to 1.5 in. Lower it to fit a taller cushion or to free up the floor for foot propulsion, raise it to position the legs, and angle it to position the upper body. The Drop Seat option lowers the seat a further 2.5 in.

Does a solid seat replace my cushion?
No. The Insert fits inside the cushion cover, and the Adjustable Solid Seat replaces the wheelchair's sling upholstery; the cushion stays.
