Description
A bolster is not a wedge. Where the Symbia 08 is a flat incline, the Orthex Symbia 10 is a curved roll nine inches high that the knees rest over, 20 in long and 22 in wide.

What is it for?
- Orthex builds it for resting with the lower body supported: the maker describes its curve as a natural support for the legs and knees.
- It is the leg bolster in the maker's leg and body pillow range, shaped to hold one position rather than to be stacked or folded.
How do you place it?
- The maker's instruction: line your knees up with the curve of the bolster and set the point of the short side at the base of the buttocks.
- It stands nine inches high and runs 20 in by 22 in, so it reaches across both legs at once.
- Orthex says the typical adaptation period is two to three weeks, and that faster adaptation is common.
What is inside it?
- A gel infused viscoelastic memory foam comfort layer over a high density polyurethane foam support structure, both from the maker's Certi-PUR certified range.
- A breathable knitted cover of coconut fibre and polyester that washes in cold water; replacement covers come from your retailer.
- Care: the foam wipes clean with a damp cloth only; the cover dries flat, with no bleach and no ironing.
How does it compare?
The Symbia 08 leg wedge is the flat incline for the same job, and the Symbia back wedges raise the upper body instead. The Symbia 14 shoulder wedge is the compact wedge for the upper back.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the bolster go?
Under the knees, with the knees lined up on the curve and the point of the short side at the base of the buttocks. That is the maker's own instruction for it.
How is it different from a leg wedge?
The bolster is a curved roll the knees rest over; a wedge is a flat slope. The Symbia 08 is the eight degree wedge in the same range.
Can I wash the cover?
Yes: cold water, laid flat to dry, no bleach and no ironing. The foam itself is wiped with a damp cloth only, never soaked.
