Description
The Ride Designs Custom AccuSoft is a custom molded wheelchair cushion. Ride Designs makes it to the sitter's captured shape with soft or extra soft foam, giving the fit of the Custom 2 on a more forgiving surface. An occupational therapist or physiotherapist captures the shape in a seating assessment.
Ride Designs states plainly that the Custom AccuSoft is not a fully off-loading cushion. If the assessment calls for a fully off-loading surface, ask us before ordering.
Who is it for?
Ride Designs names the traditional custom seating user and growing users, and says the cushion works best when it is paired with a Ride back support. It can also be ordered from measurements, without certification.
Which size fits the chair?
Width and depth are built to the captured shape, in virtually any size, so there is no size list to choose from. Capacity follows the width: 250 lb (113 kg) for cushions 20 in (51 cm) wide or narrower, and 300 lb (136 kg) for 21 in (53 cm) and wider.
An 18 x 16 in AccuSoft weighs 3.55 lb (1.6 kg).
How is it built?
Two contours are offered. Ride Contour is built on Ride's patented mechanism of support, and Full Contact is manufactured as captured. The foam is soft or extra soft, and a pair of Ride CAM wedges is included to adjust the contour later. Reinforced lateral thigh supports are optional.
Covers, care and returns
The skin side is polyester spacer fabric, with breathable spandex or a two-layer spacer cover as an option. An inner incontinence liner is included, and a wipeable polyester outer with a polyurethane coating can be ordered. All cover options allow access to the cushion for in-field modification.
The cushion is built to the order, so it is not returnable once it is in production. Read the return policy first.
