Description
Skin that stays supple is skin that does not break down. Selan Silver is the cream for that job: it helps prevent dry, chapped, cracked, chafed or irritated skin, and the skin tears that follow. It is greaseless and absorbs quickly, so a carer can apply it and dress the resident straight away.
What is in it?
Dimethicone, sorbitol and lanolin attract and hold moisture. Alongside them sits Silvérion 2400, a preservative made of silver citrate and citric acid. The maker states it has antimicrobial properties and has passed challenge tests for Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, and that it is not a colloidal silver product and does not cause or promote Argyria.
Where is it used?
On intact skin, in the places that take the most friction and moisture: elbows, heels, hands, buttocks, thighs and lower legs. Applying it after each wash or change is what keeps the skin conditioned, and the formula is paraben-free, so nothing is left behind on the skin or on a pad.
Which pack suits the setting?
A 4 oz (113.4 g) tube sits on a bedside table or in a bathroom at home, and the 8 ml unit-dose packets suit a care home, where one fresh packet goes to each resident.
Each item number orders a full case: 12 tubes, 144 packets or 1000 packets. Ask us if you need a single tube instead of a case.
Where does it fit?
The cream belongs with the washroom and hygiene products in our bathroom safety range, and the rooms it is used in are under patient room products. For a home, a free home assessment is where we look at the routine and the room together.
