What the backup does
- Q6681 is the factory-installed battery back-up option for the M.C. Advantage bed, so it is ordered with the bed rather than added later.
- The bed's backup battery is lead acid, 24 V DC, and charges through the bed's control box. It has a 10% duty cycle: up to 2 minutes of movement, then 18 minutes resting. It is for repositioning during an outage, not for running the bed all day.

Can the bed be ordered without the backup?
Yes. It is an option on the Advantage bed. The bed works from mains power alone; the backup is added at the factory when you order it.
Does the battery run the bed all day?
No. The backup is rated for 2 minutes of movement, then 18 minutes resting. It is there for outages and for beds used away from a power source.
Do I need an outlet near the bed?
Yes, for charging. The backup charges through the bed's control box, which has to be plugged into AC power.
